Welcome back guys. WE LAUNCHED A KICKSTARTER!!!
We have made it through the first 24 hours. As I write this, we have broken the $3000 mark and reached 20% of the goal. I won’t lie, it has been a very exciting, but stressful 24 hours. Overall, I would say it’s off to a good start (not really knowing what a good start is on Kickstarter).
I am working on reaching out to a lot of the bigger board game sites like boardgamegeek.com and a few reviewers to help get the word out there more. I want to make sure to make it to 30% in the first 7 days. I have heard from a few people that 30% is the magic number, so that’s goal #1.
Getting past all of that stuff, I wanted to answer some questions in this blog that I had received, either on Kickstarter or from emails.
First, I will be getting PDF's of the instruction manuals up on Kickstarter by the end of the week, both for the general game and each individual deck. Everything that’s up currently, is just enough for people who are new to the game to get an idea of what it is.
I also got a real camera for the first time! This means YouTube will hopefully become my new friend. I can get some gameplay videos out there before the end of the Kickstarter, and just a little of whatever else you guys want to see.
Last, and most important, stretch goals. A couple people have already asked if there will be a way to get the expansions if we don't make it to them on Kickstarter. I’m trying to find a way to budget them into the game. I also am looking at the option to make them into add-on's for those that would want to buy them separate, and I can just add them to the box during manufacturing and shipping.
Hopefully, we won’t have to worry about all that, and the project will pick up slightly. We will just have to play it by ear. Either way I am working on as many options as possible for everyone.
I think that pretty much covers the questions I was asked more than once.
I’ll hopefully keep smaller posts like these coming randomly throughout the Kickstarter, so everyone is fully updated. Don't forget to check the updates and comments tabs on the Kickstarter page too. There are a lot of good discussions going on there and I would love to hear from all of you!
Also just incase you are new to everything here is a link to the Kickstarter page, so you can see what everyone is going so crazy over.
Talk to you guys again Thursday. I’ll try to do something a little more fun than just Kickstarter updates.
As always, look down just a little from this sentence and hit the small purple button to get all the updates you could dream of.
